Working for RHR as a Resourcing Assistant
What does the role really involve? One of our Resourcing Assistants gives you insight of a typical day.
The great thing about being a Resourcing Assistant at RHR is that we do a four day week. We have to work some Saturdays but every third week we get Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday off.
The day starts either at 7.30am or at 8.30am depending on the rota. I mainly work at reception and a great deal of the day is spent meeting and greeting candidates and clients and handling telephone enquiries. Other responsibilities for me include facilitating the head office team vacancy review, which I am doing this morning. I then have to search CV banks and databases for good CVs for the recruitment consultants. Good CVs of good candidates mean that the consultants I help support will make more money.
Around midday, we typically sit in on Account Manager’s interviews and take notes, which enables me to learn what a good candidate looks like.
The afternoon is spent once again mainly at reception. I co-ordinate advertising copy and send it over to our in-house advertising agency, Adgrafix. I write reports for the Group Manager on consultant sales and activity. In between answering all those telephone enquiries, I gather names for Account Managers to headhunt. I will shadow them making the headhunt calls tomorrow. Again, these activities are vital to the success of RHR, and help make everyone money!
