Working for RHR as a Senior Account Manager

Where do I start? No two days are the same! I am an early starter and today am spending the main part of my morning preparing a new RHR pitch for high street fashion retailer, happening next week. I need to do research before agreeing a strategy with a couple of the Directors. Once agreed I can pull together the presentation.

I need to spend some time updating my sales and activity report to send to the Directors at the end of each week. I manage many large and small RHR accounts and it’s imperative that everyone is aware of what is happening as we need to work as a team to fill our clients’ vacancies.

Speaking of the team, the current growth of RHR means we are looking to increase the number of recruitment consultants in our teams. One of my roles is to mentor new starters and carry out training, which I need to do this afternoon on client meetings and building client relationships. Next week I will be attending one of our internal assessment centres as an assessor. In addition, I am always on the look out for candidates that can work for RHR.

The first job of my afternoon is to interview a senior candidate for an assignment I am doing for four senior merchandisers for one of RHRs’ biggest clients. I now need to have a progress report with all my major accounts on current vacancies and interviews. Regular contact is crucial with clients, and I sometimes speak more than 10 times a day with just one client, as well as have regular meetings, and the odd bit of lunch!!

The last part of the day is spent having further discussions with the Group Managers on how we further develop and motivate the team to hit our targets. We all want to go on that all expenses paid long weekend away once again this year!
