Blacks is one of the high street's best-known names, offering quality products and friendly, knowledgeable advice throughout 104 stores nationwide. From Berghaus and The North Face to Karrimor and Salomon, Blacks has both the understanding and the capability to meet our customers' high standards. The commitment to providing outstanding customer service is exemplified not only by the staff, but by initiatives such as the Blacks.co.uk website, offering one of the widest ranges of outdoor products you will find on the Internet.
Blacks also supports some of the UK's most prominent outdoors groups, including the Duke of Edinburgh's Award (for which Blacks are an official kit supplier), Outward Bound trust, Lake District National park authority and the Council for National parks. Blacks is also a member of GO, the outdoor industry trade association.
We are Britain's leading outdoor clothing and equipment retailer comprising two fascias: Millets and Blacks. We are also Britain's leading boardwear retailer comprising of Free Spirit and O'Neil.
Career opportunities
Management opportunities exist along with both part and full time sales positions.
For those who wish to pursue a career with the Group, we offer a clearly defined path, initially into supervisory roles and then onto store management. Full training is provided to attain these positions and is open to anyone who can demonstrate competence, determination and ambition. Length of service is not a factor.
In return we offer a competitive salary, 22 days annual holiday rising to 25 days after five years service, pro rata for part time employees. A bonus incentive scheme related to branch sales. A Company Sick Pay scheme, Staff discount at 30% and a Company Pension Scheme are available.
