Monsoon Accessorize
Monsoon was founded in 1972 by Peter Simon. The original focus was on clothes with ethnic origins, which were sourced from India and the Far East. Combining modern design expertise with traditional materials and techniques, the company launched a range of colourful hand-block printed clothing in natural cotton. In May 1973, the first Monsoon shop opened in Beauchamp Place, Knightsbridge, London.
1984 saw the launch of Accessorize, an exciting and strongly differentiated High Street concept for fashion accessories whose product range has a distinctive handwriting.
Monsoon has expanded rapidly from its London base. Further outlets have opened successfully in Australia, Denmark, France, Malta, Gibraltar, Iceland, the Middle East, New Zealand and the USA.
