SuperGroup, owner of the fashion brand Superdry, has appointed Penny Hughes as an independent non-executive director and is due to take up her role on April 1.

The appointment comes as SuperGroup works towards becoming a global business.

Penny Hughes is currently a non-executive director of Morrisons supermarkets and The Royal Bank of Scotland where she is chair of the Sustainable Banking Committee. She has previously worked for retailers like The Body Shop, Gap, Home Retail Group and Next.
