New non-executive director joins JD Sports

It has been announced that Andy Rubin will be joining popular sportswear retailer JD Sports as a non-executive director.

Chairman of Pentland Brands, director of Pentland Group plc and European vice-president of the World Federation of the Spring Goods Industry, JD Sports said that it will benefit from his experience of brand development.

Executive chairman at JD Sports, Peter Cowgill, said: "I am pleased to announce that Andy has agreed to join the Board. His experience of managing and developing brands internationally will add to our board as we continue the international expansion of the JD brand."
