Asda to rename "fat balls" to avoid customer laughs

11 March 2010 09:38

It has been reported that Asda is to change the name of its bird seed products to stop customers laughing at the name "fat balls". According to the Sun, the balls of seeds and fat, put out to help wild birds last out the winter, are responsible for many smirks from customers.

Asda spokeswoman Sian Horner said: "Colleagues have seen many shoppers emerging from the pet aisle with a smile on their face. Adults as well as kids have been caught sharing a giggle as well so we are considering covering the packaging on shelf or even giving the product a new name".
