Kingfisher is "trading solidly" despite difficult circumstances according to group chief executive Ian Cheshire. Kingfisher has said that a "very tough" quarter was behind a 7.9% slump in like-for-like sales in the 13 weeks ended May 3rd. Total UK sales dropped 3% to £1.13 billion. Kingfisher has announced the appointment of Euan Sutherland as chief executive of its UK division, which includes B&Q in the UK and Ireland, Screwfix and Trade Depot.
