The Entertainer has reported an uplift in sales over the Christmas period.

In the five weeks leading to December 29th, total sales were up by 22.4%.

Saturday 22nd December was the company’s biggest trading day of the period.  Like-for-like sales climbed by 13.5% across the five weeks, with in-store like-for-like sales were up by 13%.  Online sales also grew by 17.1%.

Gary Grant, founder and executive chairman of The Entertainer, said: “I’m delighted with our performance over the peak trading period. It caps a tremendous year of growth which has included the opening of 18 new stores for The Entertainer, expansion in our partnership with Matalan, further expansion of our franchise operation into three new territories and the acquisition of the Spanish toy retailer, Poly, comprising 57 stores.”
