Perfume Shop promotes trading director to COO

The Perfume Shop has promoted Jo Walker to the role of chief operating officer. Ms Walker joined the business in 1992 as store manager and became area manager in 1993. Over the next eight years she advanced to operations manager, operations controller and retail operations director. Finally in 2006 when TPS was acquired by AS Watson, she became trading director.
Chief executive officer Jeremy Seigal, said: "Jo has been instrumental in the performance of The Perfume Shop over the last 15 years resulting in it being the best performer of our UK retail businesses.
"Jo is an excellent example of The Perfume Shop’s commitment to develop management ability from within its own business.
"I am confident that under Jo’s leadership the business will continue to perform strongly".
Ms Walker said: "I am delighted to take up this new appointment. The A.S Watson Group's UK businesses are in a strong position and I look forward to working with the teams of TPS, Superdrug and Savers to build these retail brands".
The Perfume Shop operates 164 stores across the UK and Eire.
