French Connection confirms Japanese buy-back

Global fashion brand French Connection has officially confirmed that it is in discussions with its Japanese subsidiary Renown which, it says, are likely to lead to FCUK buying back Renown's 50% stake in the French Connection Japan Inc. joint venture. The talks are described as being at an advanced stage. When the company announced its annual results back in March of this year its licensed businesses in the Rest of the World division*, which includes Japan, had shown strong growth and had produced a 30% increase in revenue.
