Home Retail Group acquires TV brands

28 November 2008 09:54

Home Retail Group, owner or the Homebase and Argos brands, has acquired Britain's two oldest radio and television brands, Alba and Bush, for £15.25 million. While HRG does not expect either to make any significant money for more than a year, the value of the iconic brands themselves was deemed worthy of investment.
According to a spokesman: "The trademarks are household names with very strong heritage which have high awareness and purchase frequency with Argos customers. "As a result of this acquisition, Home Retail Group will be able to continue to offer these trademarks to its customers."
