Poor boardwear performance continues to hit Blacks

18 March 2009 09:35

Blacks Leisure Group has said that trading since its last update on January 7th is in line with expectations, with the outdoor division trading strongly and its boardwear business continuing to perform poorly.

As a result, the company has moved to reduce the impact of the struggling business on the rest of the group by converting its boardwear stores into outdoor stores. So far, eight stores, equating to nearly one third of the estate, have been converted.

In February, the group received approaches for a potential offer and in an update Blacks added that talks were continuing but that there was no certainty of an offer being made.
