Agent Provocateur has appointment former Aquascutum chief executive Kim Winser as chairman. Winser will replace Stuart Rose, (not the M&S chairman, but formerly of Hamleys and The Body Shop), who has stepped down as chairman.
Ms Winser joined Agent Provacateur in December in an advisory capacity. She previously ran Aquascutum and Pringle and spent more than 20 years at Marks & Spencer. However, she left Aquascutum in May after her plans for a management buyout collapsed. The business was subsequently sold by its Japanese owner Renown in September to Jaeger owner Harold Tillman.
Agent Provocateur chief executive Garry Hogarth said in a statement: "The last two years have seen significant and exciting changes in our business since we were acquired by 3i. We are now looking at the next stage of our growth".
He added that Mr Rose had played a key role in restructuring the business model at Agent Provocateur over the last two years and said that Winser's experience in international luxury brand retailing will "greatly assist" the business in its next stage of development.
Mr Rose became chairman of Agent Provocateur in November 2007, following its acquisition by 3i.
Mr Rose has held a number of non-executive roles in non-retail sectors and was formerly managing director and deputy chairman of The Body Shop and chairman of Hamleys.
