Graduate Fashion Week is to get a new title sponsor after the exit of River Island.

CEO Ben Lewis said: "River Island has always been dedicated to promoting young talent. Original thinking and new ideas are the foundations on which we built our brand. However, we really feel that now is the right time to step aside and allow another brand to take on this brilliant mantle."

He added: "Creative talent has always been a great source of national pride and I really think there is no better example of this than the energy you find at Graduate Fashion Week."

During its six years as sponsor, River Island has recruited 90 new designers to join its team.

Terry Mansfield, CBE and chairman of Graduate Fashion Week, said: "The Trustees and I cannot thank and commend River Island highly enough. It has been such an enthusiastic sponsor, its contribution to the event goes beyond a financial one; the company's dedication and commitment to supporting young talent from the very top of the business right down to the shop floor is outstanding."
