Travelodge to create 160 jobsBudget hotel chain

Travelodge is to create over 160 new jobs in the run-up to Christmas, mainly with the opening of nine new sites, it was announced today.

New hotels will be opened in Birmingham, Doncaster, High Wycombe, Huddersfield, Liverpool, London, Salford Quays, Portishead and Bolton.

The recruitment drive started today, with jobs including receptionists, housekeepers, cleaners and bar staff.

The new Travelodges will take the company's total to almost 500, with over 35,000 rooms. The hotel chain plans to increase the number to 1,100 hotels and 100,000 rooms by 2025.

Michelle Luxford, Travelodge Human Resources Director, said: "These 163 new jobs are not just for Christmas, we are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and committed individuals who want a long term career in hospitality."
