More boardroom changes at Blacks

Blacks Leisure has announced that its finance director Marc Lombardo has resigned.

Mr Lombardo will remain in his role for the next three months before leaving the business on December 16th.

This is the latest in a series of departures from the outdoor goods retailer, with former chairman David Bernstein pressured out of the business by major shareholders at Sports Direct and former chief executive Neil Gillis being replaced by ex-Figleaves boss Julia Reynolds this month.

The nomination committee at Blacks will now commence a search for a suitable successor for Mr Lombardo.

Peter Williams, interim chairman of Blacks, said: "Marc has helped steer Blacks through some challenging times in retail.

"On behalf of the board I would like to thank him for the significant contribution that he has made to the company over the last three years and wish him every success in his new role."

Marc Lombardo said: "The end of the year feels like the right time for me to move on to a new challenge once Julia Reynolds, our new CEO, is well established in the business.

"I wish Julia and all my colleagues well for the future."
