Amazon "dispiriting" says new Waterstone’s boss

Online retailer Amazon has been branded a "dispiriting" place to shop by James Daunt, the managing director of the country's biggest high street book chain, Waterstone's.
In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, the Waterstone's boss said that customers who bought books online were "denying themselves the pleasure of browsing in a bookshop" although he admitted that "unless you are offering more to customers and are doing it better than Amazon you are going to lose".
Mr Daunt is currently implementing a turnaround plan at Waterstone's after it was bought by Russian billionaire Alexander Mamut earlier this year.
