Hotel company Travelodge is to complete three new hotels next year at locations where supermarket chain Waitrose is building retail sites in Buckinghamshire and London.
At Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire, Travelodge will operate an 81-room hotel and Waitrose will open a 37,000 sq ft supermarket, with the project due to be completed by the end of 2012.
In Sidcup in south east London there will be an 84-room hotel and a 10,000 sq ft Waitrose convenience store, scheduled to open in August 2012.
Then in November next year, there will be a 154-room hotel and a 6,000 sq ft Waitrose convenience store opening in Vauxhall, south London.
Travelodge also said it was developing and was in close negotiations on 25 deals with a number of large supermarket companies across the UK in a programme that represented a £130 million investment and which would create around 520 Travelodge jobs.
