The Body Shop is continuing its expansion with a new store set to open in Chile.

The beauty retailer, which has stores in 65 countries already, is set to make presence in Santiago’s Plaza Egaña Mall this month - a shopping centre that has been praised for its sustainability.

Paul Kimberly, The Body Shop’s Latin America director said the company was “convinced” that the region “offers growth potential and opportunities for development”.

The new shop will sell its best-selling products, such as its Vitamin E range and the Oils of Life facial treatment.

The Body Shop’s Chile expansion will make it the company’s third Latin American market, having already been established in Mexico since 1993 and Brazil since 2014.

The Santiago store comes as The Body Shop reported a 9.6% drop in second-quarter sales to £169.2 million last month.
