Monex Enables AI Powered Access to Brokerage Accounts via MCP
Monex Group has introduced a new AI‑driven interface for its Japanese brokerage subsidiary, Monex Securities, by integrating both ChatGPT and Claude into its client services. This development enables customers to access their account information through natural language conversations, marking a notable shift in how financial institutions are beginning to streamline client interactions and reduce friction in everyday account management.
This launch aligns with a broader industry movement toward AI connected trading environments. Firms such as IG Australia and Interactive Brokers have recently enabled similar capabilities, allowing AI platforms to retrieve account data and assist with trade preparation. Monex’s solution is powered by the Model Context Protocol (MCP) via its newly built MONEX MCP Server, giving clients the ability to check assets, order status, transaction history, mutual fund details and selected analytical tools without navigating a traditional website or mobile app. The service is available as an approved ChatGPT plugin and as a custom connector on Claude.
Monex Securities notes that this is the first offering of its kind among major Japanese securities companies, defined as the country’s largest full‑service brokers and leading online firms. The rollout also follows a comparable initiative by Monex Group’s US subsidiary, TradeStation Securities, which connected its accounts to an AI platform earlier this year using the same protocol.
