General Manager

We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded general manager to lead and develop our sourcing operation in Vietnam, supporting an established portfolio of UK and European footwear customers.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong footwear industry experience, a deep understanding of sourcing and manufacturing in Asia, and the ability to build strong relationships with international customers and local manufacturing partners.

The Role

Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and strategic development of our Vietnam operation, ensuring the business delivers exceptional service, quality, commercial performance and operational efficiency.

You will act as the key link between our UK and European customers, suppliers and manufacturing partners, ensuring that customer expectations are understood and consistently delivered across the supply chain.

• Lead and manage the Vietnam sourcing operation, overseeing all aspects of business performance and day-to-day operations.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with UK and European footwear customers.
• Manage and develop relationships with footwear factories, suppliers and manufacturing partners across Vietnam and the wider region.
• Oversee product development, costing, sourcing, production planning, quality assurance and delivery.
• Ensure products are delivered on time, to specification and within agreed commercial parameters.
• Drive operational improvements, efficiency and profitability.
• Build, lead and develop a high-performing local team.
• Act as the senior representative of the business in Vietnam, promoting a professional, customer-focused and commercially driven culture.

We are looking for someone who can combine strong operational leadership with excellent commercial and customer management skills.

You will ideally have:

• Significant experience within the footwear industry, particularly sourcing, manufacturing or supply chain management.
• Proven experience working with UK and/or European footwear brands, retailers or customers.
• A strong understanding of footwear product development, costing, production processes and quality standards.
• Existing relationships with footwear manufacturers and suppliers in Vietnam or the wider Asian region.
• Experience managing teams and leading an overseas sourcing operation.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• A strong commercial mindset, with the ability to balance customer expectations, supplier relationships and business profitability.
• The ability to operate independently, make decisions and take ownership of business performance.

On offer there is a salary up to $8000 gross, dependent on experience plus bonus potential. You will also be part of a progressive business going through exceptional growth.
