We’re looking for a commercially minded merchandise analyst to join a fast-paced, fashion-led retail business on a 4–5 month fixed-term contract. This is a great opportunity to join a high-profile retail brand during an exciting period of change, using data and analytics to identify opportunities across product, pricing, promotions, inventory and customer behaviour. The role is based in Watford with a hybrid working pattern of 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.

As merchandise analyst, you’ll work closely with the director of merchandising, buying, merchandising and product teams to turn data into clear commercial recommendations. You’ll analyse product performance, pricing, promotional effectiveness, inventory productivity, customer behaviour, market share and store space productivity, using your insight to identify opportunities to improve sales, margin, stock productivity and customer growth. You’ll also support line planning, in-season analysis, hindsight reporting and strategic merchandising activity, providing clear recommendations that can directly influence commercial decisions.

We’re looking for someone with strong experience in a retail buying & merchandising environment, ideally from an AM or JM background who has moved into, or has previously held, an analytical role. You’ll need a highly commercial and analytical mindset, with proven experience turning data into actionable recommendations across areas such as product performance, pricing, promotions, inventory and customer behaviour. Advanced Excel skills are essential, including Pivot Tables and Power Query, alongside experience with Power BI or Tableau. SQL and Python, or a similar analytical coding language, would be advantageous. Strong communication skills and the confidence to influence stakeholders are also essential.

Salary: £45,000 pro rata | 4–5 month FTC | Watford | Hybrid: 2 days office / 3 days home. This is an opportunity to make a tangible commercial impact during a key period of systems and business change, working alongside an experienced merchandising and product function.
