£55,000 - £60,000 per year

Join a fast-growing, multi-site retail business with around 90 stores across the UK and Ireland, with ambitious plans for further expansion. As the business continues to grow and modernise its technology estate, this is an opportunity to join a small, collaborative IT team and play a key role across stores, Head Office and warehouse operations. The role offers a broad mix of hands-on infrastructure engineering, project delivery and supporting the technology behind new store openings.

You’ll be responsible for supporting and maintaining IT infrastructure across the estate, with a particular focus on coordinating IT readiness for new store openings and refurbishments. This will include working with third-party suppliers, delivering infrastructure and POS rollouts, supporting networking, servers, Microsoft 365, security and end-user technology, as well as troubleshooting issues and acting as an escalation point for the wider IT team. You’ll also contribute to technology improvement projects, maintain technical documentation, support store openings, closures and relocations, and provide mentoring and knowledge sharing within the team. The role will involve occasional store visits, typically once or twice a month, with full-day visits required for new openings, alongside participation in a four-person on-call rota approximately one week per month.

We’re looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer with a strong grounding in Windows Server, Windows Desktop, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, networking and technical troubleshooting. Experience with SD-WAN, Fortinet, switching, Wi-Fi, POS, VMware/Hyper-V, Microsoft SQL and FTP would be beneficial. Retail or multi-site IT experience is advantageous, but specific retail POS platform experience isn't essential. Most importantly, you’ll be practical, proactive and technically curious, with the ability to investigate problems independently, identify solutions and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. This would suit an experienced engineer looking to step into a senior position.

The salary is up to £60,000, with flexibility for the right candidate. The role offers a 4-day office week, flexible start and finish times, 23 days' annual leave plus bank holidays (increasing with service), pension contributions, eyewear support, staff discounts, learning and development programmes, free breakfasts and regular social and team-building activities. On-call additional hours are paid.
