Senior Merchandiser - 12 month FTC

A forward thinking fashion retailer is looking for an experienced senior merchandiser to take ownership of one of our key departments. This is a highly commercial role where you'll be accountable for delivering sales, profit, margin and stock KPIs in line with the overall department strategy. You'll trade the department week to week, analysing sales and stock performance through the WSSI to identify risks, opportunities and the actions needed to maximise profitability. You'll own forecasting, range plans, stock flow and the departmental Open to Buy, carefully controlling commitments and intake so the right product is available without carrying excess stock or risk. Working closely with buying and design, you'll build commercially balanced, customer-focused ranges with the right breadth, depth and product mix, then prepare and present range sign-offs that bring together sales strategy, margin, OTB and customer needs. You'll also partner with suppliers to optimise margin, quality, sourcing and lead times, and spot opportunities to drive sales through promotions and marketing activity, taking them all the way through to implementation.

We're looking for someone who can make independent trading decisions, take calculated risks and respond quickly to shifts in sales, trends and customer behaviour. You'll be a natural influencer, working across Buying, Design and other departments to deliver the wider commercial strategy, and you won't be afraid to challenge existing processes or introduce new initiatives that improve performance and efficiency. Strong merchandising experience in fashion retail, excellent analytical skills and a confident, collaborative style are essential.

As a leader, you'll manage, coach and develop a team of Merchandisers, Assistant Merchandisers and MAAs, holding regular 1:1s and performance reviews, giving constructive feedback and building a positive, high-performing culture. In return, the retail is offering a salary of £65,000 plus benefits package. Please note, this is a 12 month fixed term contract.
