Founded in 1981, OFFICE began life as a concession within London's iconic Hyper Hyper department store. The brand's name originated from its unconventional use of reclaimed office furniture as product displays, reflecting the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit that still defines the business today. Following early success, OFFICE opened its first standalone store on King's Road in 1984 and has since grown into a recognised high-street fashion destination with a significant presence across the UK and internationally.
Growth has been a consistent theme throughout the company's journey. International expansion began in 2004 with launches in Ireland and concessions in major US cities including New York, Las Vegas and Chicago. This was followed by further European expansion, reinforcing OFFICE's position as a truly international fashion retailer.
In 2015, OFFICE became part of Truworths International, a leading international fashion retail group. The acquisition provided a strong platform for continued growth while maintaining the entrepreneurial culture and customer-first mindset that has been central to OFFICE's success.
