British fashion retail brand Superdry is planning to expand the company in India along the country’s east coast. The company first launched in the market in 2012 under an agreement with franchise partner Reliance Brands Limited.

Superdry first opened in Mumbai and has since opened 21 stores in locations such as Pune, New Dehli and Chennai and the retailer has its sights set on a new location at the Sohum Emporia in Guwahati, as well as additional stores in Ahmedabad and Kolkata.

Manu Sharma, Reliance Brands head of business, commented: "We are expanding in India. From 21 outlets. we want to grow to 28 to 29 outlets by this fiscal year."

The expansion comes as the retailers UK-based parent company SuperGroup is working to expand its presence in both China and North America.
