Capital.com has secured a licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore as it pushes ahead with its global growth plans.
The approval gives the broker a stronger regulatory presence and helps it expand its services to investors and traders across the region.
New CEO in Singapore
Capital.com has appointed Tony Lim as Chief Executive Officer of its Singapore business.
Lim previously spent nine years leading IG Group's Singapore operation. The company said his appointment supports its goal of building a strong local presence with experienced leadership and market knowledge.
Expansion plans take shape
Capital.com plans to begin onboarding clients through its Singapore entity in early 2027.
The new licence will allow the company to offer securities, collective investment schemes and over-the-counter derivatives, including contracts for difference (CFDs).
This will widen the range of products and services available to customers in Singapore as the firm continues its expansion in Asia.
What RHR thinks
We believe this latest regulatory milestone shows Capital.com's ambition to grow in key global markets. It also reflects the industry's continued focus on strong leadership and solid regulatory foundations to support growth.
What this means for hiring. Growth in Singapore could increase demand for leadership, compliance, regulatory, operations and client onboarding roles. The launch of new services may also support hiring in product and technology teams.
