BtcDana has secured a Category 5 licence from the UAE's Capital Market Authority (CMA), giving its local business permission to carry out introduction and promotion activities in the region.
The licence creates a regulatory framework that allows the company to market financial services and connect potential clients with its affiliated trading firms. It does not allow brokerage services or trade execution activities.
Founded in 2019, BtcDana has expanded its presence in the retail trading market and says it serves more than 1.5 million active traders worldwide.
The platform provides access to more than 300 CFD products across forex, metals, indices and commodities. These are available through both mobile and desktop trading platforms.
The approval is the latest step in BtcDana's efforts to grow its presence in the region while operating within established regulatory requirements.
The licence only applies to BtcDana's UAE entity. It does not cover the company's affiliated trading firms, which remain regulated under their existing jurisdictions.
Founder Peter Chow said the authorisation provides a clear framework for introduction and promotion activities in the local market and supports the company's long-term plans for growth across the region.
What RHR thinks
We believe this highlights the UAE's growing appeal as a regulated hub for financial services firms looking to expand in the region. Strong regulatory frameworks continue to create opportunities for brokers and trading platforms to build credibility and strengthen investor confidence.
What this means for hiring. The move could support demand for compliance, regulatory, sales and business development roles as BtcDana expands its regional presence. Marketing and client-facing positions may also benefit as the company increases promotion and introduction activities in the UAE.
