David Beckham has signed a 10-year eyewear license agreement with Italian eyewear specialist Safilo, meaning that his eponymous brand will offer a range of glasses to its customers.

Safilo already has licences with Dior, Fendi, Givenchy and Max Mara, and will design, manufacture and distribute David Beckham glasses and sunglasses, with the first collection set to launch in January 2020.

Beckham said of the license, “I wear sunglasses all the time and this is a category that I love. So, it’s important to me to work with a partner who cares as much about the design and craftsmanship of the product as I do."

This will be the latest addition to the Beckham empire, already including a stake in fashion label Kent & Curwen and a men’s grooming brand called House 99, which he founded with L’Oreal last year.

The Beckham’s have also recently bought out their business partner Simon Fuller, acquiring his 33% stake in Beckham Brand Holdings.  The deal was reportedly worth $50 million.
