Morrisons is launching a new box service to enable self-isolating customers to get everything they need for Christmas dinner for two people delivered to their door. Costing £18.36, the Christmas Dinner for Two Box contains a British turkey breast joint, peeled potatoes, pigs in blankets, vegetables, stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce. It also includes a starter and dessert, as well as two mince pies, Christmas crackers and a selection of wine.

Customers will be given a recipe card with step-by-step instructions for cooking and timings.

Shoppers can order the box via Morrisons dedicated Doorstep Deliveries phone line, which enables vulnerable or self-isolating customers to order their groceries over the phone and have them hand-delivered by a staff member from their local store. The boxes will delivered on a day to suit the customer between 21 and 23 December.

David Potts, Morrisons chief executive, said: “Our telephone service is a lifeline for many vulnerable people. Thirty million British households will be shopping in the week up to Christmas and we do not want anyone to get left behind. Our Doorstep delivery service will ensure those who can’t leave their home to go shopping will still be able to enjoy their Christmas dinner.”
