Woking Shopping has signed up Tesco for a new store at 31/33 Commercial Way.

Spanning 5,221 square feet, the shop will be the first Tesco in Woking town centre when it opens later this year.

Councillor Ayesha Azad, leader of Woking Borough Council, said: “The new town centre Tesco will be a major benefit to all those who live and work in Woking. With Boots opening last year, our retail offering continues to be strengthened, highlighting the broad-spectrum appeal of Woking town centre which is also being strengthened by a number of quality F&B operators, including both independents and national chains.”

In addition to Tesco, various food and beverage operators have either signed or opened at Wolsey Place and the Peacocks Centre in recent months. The Island House independent restaurant and bar will open this month in Jubilee Square while the Duke’s Bar and Deli has moved into the ground floor of Dukes Court, Meanwhile, Gordon Ramsay Street Burger has made its debut outside London on Commercial Way with a Gordon Ramsay Academy situated above.
