Assistant Buyer
We are looking for an Assistant Buyer for Ingredients, where you'll play a key role in sourcing high‑quality products that help shape our culinary offering across restaurants, kitchens, and external sites.
About the Role
In this role, you’ll support the Ingredients Buyer and Buying Manager to source and manage ingredient categories that deliver exceptional quality, value, and consistency. You’ll work closely with chefs, product developers, and suppliers to ensure that every ingredient meets our high standards, while also supporting new product development and menu innovation. As you grow in the role, you’ll take on more ownership of your categories, developing your commercial skills and becoming a trusted partner to multiple internal teams.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing specific ingredient categories to ensure they meet commercial, operational, and quality requirements.
Supporting NPD and menu development by sourcing ingredients, coordinating samples, and managing costings.
Building strong supplier relationships while identifying new sourcing opportunities and supporting negotiations.
Tracking performance metrics such as cost, availability, and quality, and maintaining accurate documentation through the full product lifecycle.
Supporting supply chain and resilience planning by monitoring risks, resolving issues, and ensuring continuity across all culinary locations.
Depending on your role, you may be fully on-site or have a mix of on-site and home working – this is what we refer to as ‘Hybrid’. Our hybrid working policy allows colleagues to work from home for part of the week, with a minimum of three days on-site, depending on business needs.

With a passion for food and ingredients, you’ll bring curiosity, commercial awareness, and the drive to continually improve your categories and support innovation.
You will bring:
Experience working in a buying, sourcing, hospitality, FMCG, or food‑related environment.
Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to evaluate options and influence outcomes.
Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and organisational skills.
