Circular Manager - ReSelfridges
Job Purpose
The Circular team is responsible for scaling our six circular business models that sit under our Reselfridges banner – Pre-Loved, Resell, Rental, Repair, Refill and Recycle. The Circular Manager will lead the strategic development and operational execution of these business models, driving innovation, commercial performance and customer engagement across all six pillars. They will be accountable for identifying and unlocking growth opportunities, managing cross-functional initiatives, and ensuring that circularity remains a key pillar of Selfridges’ strategy and customer experience.
The team sits within the Buying team, reporting to the Head of Leather Goods & Reselfridges and working closely with all Buying divisions as well as key wider teams, including Retail and Marketing. The team also collaborates closely with the Responsible Sourcing and Environment teams to ensure our circular initiatives align with our work on ethical trade and human rights, together contributing to our overall Reselfridges sustainability strategy.

Key Responsibilities
Shaping the Strategy
· Define the vision and ambition for our circular business models together with the Head of Leather Goods & Reselfridges, including the development of long-term and short-term targets in line with the Reselfridges strategy as well as the wider business strategy
· Establish relative priorities across the different business models, ensuring that time and effort is optimised to ensure delivery of the vision and ambition
· Leverage financial, customer and market insights to identify new opportunities for growth and optimisation in line with the priority focus areas, including potential new business models
· Determine the optimal approach to unlock identified opportunities, taking into account commercial and operational considerations
· Reactively and proactively engage partners to support with the delivery of prioritised opportunities, ensuring adequate business model reviews and due diligence are conducted
Optimising the Product Offer
· Define and optimise the Pre-Loved product assortment across Accessories and RTW, ensuring alignment with customer trends, seasonal moments, and sustainability goals
o Use data and customer insights to drive ongoing improvements in product selection, availability, and quality
o Ensure pricing strategies reflect commercial objectives while remaining competitive and accessible for customers engaging in circular shopping
o Identify key gaps and opportunities within product curation and partner selection (including wider categories e.g. Home and Kids)
· Oversee the Resell proposition, driving a healthy flow of high-quality products into our Pre-Loved offer
o Identify and deliver initiatives to drive visibility
o Lead on mitigating against, and resolving, key operational challenges and risks to ensure delivery of a consistently excellent customer experience
· Collaborate with Beauty & Home Buying teams to identify and execute optimisation and growth initiatives related to assortment, stock and visibility
· Own the relationships with our Repair and Rental partners, supporting opportunities to streamline operations, raise awareness, and expand the offer
Owning Projects and New Propositions
· Lead on the end-to-end delivery of growth and optimisation opportunities, from pop-up activations (e.g. Reselfridges x ReBurberry) through to brand new business models (e.g. Reselfridges Recycle)
· Collaborate with Finance to build out the business case for each project, identifying and addressing any key risks
· Develop the approach and/or operating model for each initiative, considering and mitigating against any legal, operational or commercial challenges
· Identify and engage relevant stakeholders across the business (including Buying, Retail, Legal, Finance, Marketing) to secure buy-in, address any additional risks, and support the delivery of key initiatives
· Oversee and own the management of relationships with external partners as they are introduced and onboarded with Selfridges
Engaging Key Stakeholders
· Support the Head of Leather Goods & Reselfridges to be the ‘voice’ of Reselfridges across the business, ensuring representation across key forums and projects
· Establish effective relationships with and influence key leaders in areas where collaboration is required to achieve success – including Buying, Retail, Digital, Marketing and Creative
· Lead monthly forums with key teams to communicate progress and updates, generate engagement, and secure support where required
· Act as the ‘point person’ for internal and external questions or queries related to circular, working closely with the internal and external Comms teams to ensure Reselfridges shows up in the right way
· Collaborate closely with the Responsible Sourcing and Environment teams to ensure a cohesive approach to customer, team and brand interactions
Delivering BAU Activities
· Fulfil monthly reporting requirements, including the Executive Dashboard, Business Review and Group reporting, ensuring Reselfridges progress is clearly articulated including key achievements and challenges
· Contribute to wider business strategic projects to represent Circular, including 2030 strategy deliverables and 40 Duke
· Manage a team of 3 people, ensuring all of the team are supported to be successful, and have clear direction both in terms of their roles and personal development

A bit about you
· Expertise in circular business models with a clear understanding of the market, key players and the unique complexities and challenges of the space
· At least 5–7 years of managerial experience in a strategy, business development or commercial role, alongside tangible evidence of buying knowledge and proficiency
· Evidence of delivering large-scale projects, demonstrating an ability to work with multiple stakeholders to deliver complex initiatives from idea conception to implementation
· Experience in exploratory conversations with potential new business models/partners and commercial term negotiations with executive/senior management level vendors
· Strong leadership, collaboration and influencing skills, with experience working with a diverse range of multi-functional teams and stakeholders – both internal and external as well as managing direct reports.
· Strong commercial acumen and track record of delivering profitable growth
· Resilient and resourceful with a ‘can do’ attitude and problem-solving skills
· Ability to work and lead autonomously in a fast paced and sometimes ambiguous environment
