Food Demand Planner
We are seeking a highly organised and commercially minded Food Demand Planner to forecast and plan demand for Harrods’ in-house food products, ensuring exceptional availability while minimising waste.
About the Role
As a Food Demand Planner, you will take ownership of forecasting and demand planning for Harrods-manufactured food ranges, including Bakery, Food To Go, Dinner, Rotisserie, and Juice Bar. You'll also manage the procurement of select externally sourced products that complement our in-house assortment.
Working side-by-side with the Food Production Planner, you’ll optimise plans based on production lead times, WIPs, and made-to-order volumes, balancing operational efficiency with elevated customer expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the Sales and Operation Planning process for food and chairing Demand & Portfolio review meetings.
Creating and managing detailed forecasts with overlays for seasonality, new product development, events, and weather.
Ensuring product availability across all sites and channels by collaborating with key stakeholders.
Managing procurement and supplier relationships for select external products, including PO accuracy and inbound compliance.
Providing insight-driven reporting across availability, waste, and demand accuracy for planning and trade forums.
Depending on your role, you may be fully on-site or have a mix of on-site and home working – this is what we refer to as ‘Hybrid’. Our hybrid working policy allows colleagues to work from home for part of the week, with a minimum of three days on-site, depending on business needs.
Please see our Hybrid@Harrods policy on our Career Site for more information or speak to a member of our Talent Acquisition team if you have any questions regarding the requirements for this role.
About You
You will be an insightful and detail-focused planner with a strong understanding of food retail dynamics. You thrive in a collaborative environment, communicate clearly across teams, and bring a solutions-driven mindset to every challenge.
Your approach is grounded in accuracy, ownership, and continuous improvement, ensuring both service levels and stock health are optimised.
You will also have:
Demonstrable experience in demand or supply planning, ideally within food or FMCG.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP).
Strong organisational, analytical, and communication abilities.
