The role
We have an exciting role within the Group CRM team, for a Graduate CRM Executive to support the development of our automation programme. Halfords has a sophisticated automated email programme supporting our Halfords Motoring Club members and all our non-members. The programme extends beyond email into web personalisation, social, SMS and direct mail to enable a true omnichannel approach. This role is responsible for developing and optimising the programme using targeting and personalisation techniques, ensuring customer engagement and lifetime value is maximised.

Key Responsibilities
Assist the team in managing the current CRM automated programs for all Halfords customer segments, primarily focusing on email while exploring opportunities in SMS, direct mail, online personalisation, paid search, and social media. Work closely with the CRM data agency, web personalization, and performance marketing teams to support campaign delivery.
Support the design and development of new automated campaigns by contributing to business needs and customer data insights.
Collaborate with the creative agency to help ensure emails are accessible and align with Halfords’ brand guidelines, while learning how to create engaging and relevant content.
Use basic segmentation techniques to help identify the right audiences for campaigns and support efforts to maintain appropriate customer contact frequency.
Assist in running multivariate tests and learning how to analyse the results to improve campaign performance.
Support the review of campaign performance regularly, helping to gather data and prepare reports that provide insights and recommendations.
Work alongside external partners such as design agencies, data providers, dynamic content specialists, and email delivery services, gaining experience in cross-functional collaboration.
Contribute to transformation projects, data integration efforts, and other CRM program activities as needed, supporting the wider team.
Help conduct competitor research to understand best practices in email marketing and CRM, developing knowledge to apply to Halfords’ strategies.
About you
Educated to Degree level in Digital Marketing, Computer Science or similar degrees
Solid understanding of theory behind multichannel CRM marketing campaigns
Obsessive attention to detail and takes responsibility for the accuracy of their work.
Experience within HTML
Excellent numeracy skills, with strong analytical capabilities.
Confident individual with excellent communication
Excellent organisational skills with ability to operate on a wide range of topics and projects at one time.
Enjoys working at pace in a fast moving and constantly changing environment.
Passion for customer and constantly curious, obsessed with delivering the right message at the right time and with the right content.
Can-do attitude with a passion to learn and develop, and a willingness to be hands-on.
Productive team member, collaborating effectively with all teams and at all levels of the organisation, who can see how CRM operates within a broader marketing and overall business strategy.
