Super 8 is a small, independent group of unique restaurants. We believe that beautiful produce and authentic cooking can thrive in fun, atmospheric restaurants that are as rewarding to work in as they are to dine in. We’re known for our innovative farming partnerships and progressive team development programmes. Over the years, Smoking Goat, Kiln, Brat, Brat Climpson’s Arch, and Mountain have earned accolades including Michelin stars, recognition in the World's 50 Best, National Restaurant Awards, and the World Restaurant Awards.

As a dynamic and exciting company, we’re an expanding hospitality group with 300 employees, £22M in sales, and an impressive track record of profitable growth over the last 10 years. As we continue to develop our portfolio of restaurants and corporate entities, we are creating a new Head of Finance role to join our senior leadership team. This is a critical position that will combine hands-on financial management with strategic business partnering and the opportunity to help shape the future of our in-house finance function.

We currently work with a trusted third-party finance partner, SKS, and the Head of Finance will manage this relationship while identifying ways to maximise productivity and effectiveness. This is a “player/manager” role for someone who is ready to roll up their sleeves, dive into the detail, and work closely with our Co-Founders to drive growth.

What you’ll be doing:

Lead and manage the finance strategy and accounting function for all Super 8 group restaurants and corporate entities.
Prepare weekly, period, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
Analyse financial performance by site, monitor KPIs and variances, and recommend strategies for efficiency and cost control while maintaining revenue growth and profitability.
Manage annual budgeting, forecasting, and re-forecasting processes in partnership with Operations Directors.
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions (all led by SKS).
Implement internal financial controls and procedures to safeguard assets and drive efficiency.
Support procurement reviews and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Partner with auditors, bankers, and other advisors on audits, treasury management, debt raising, and cash flow.
Contribute to financial modelling for new restaurant openings, renovations, and strategic initiatives.
Actively participate in the Senior Leadership team, modelling Super 8’s values and culture.

What you’ll bring:

Energy, drive, and ambition with the appetite to grow alongside our expanding group.
Proven hospitality experience, ideally within a multi-site restaurant group.
Outstanding commercial acumen and the ability to contribute strategically beyond transactional finance.
Comfortable “player/manager” approach, working hands-on while shaping the finance function.
Excellent communication skills to convey financial concepts clearly to operational and leadership teams.
Strong business partnering mindset, curious about restaurant operations, products, and people.
Leadership and collaboration skills to manage and enhance the relationship with SKS.
Progressive approach to technology, AI, and continuous improvement.
Low ego, high output – ambitious, results-oriented, and able to deliver in a fast-paced environment.

What’s in it for you:

28 days of annual leave, including bank holidays.
Access to courses, resources, and training to enhance your career.
50% discount at all our restaurants, along with complimentary staff meals during your shifts.
Discounted dining at various local establishments near Super 8 Restaurants.
Enhanced maternity leave, pension scheme, subsidised mental health support, and a cycle-to-work scheme.
Refer a Friend scheme—recommend someone to join Super 8 and receive a bonus!
Opportunities for both international and national travel to visit our suppliers and learn about sourcing ingredients and beverages.
£300 contribution towards the purchase of a work laptop for all salaried staff members.
