In‑House Maintenance Operative
Nationwide | Full-Time | up to £40,000
We’re looking for a skilled, proactive Handy Person to join our in‑house maintenance team and help keep our 69 Brasseries running smoothly, safely, and looking their best. If you’re the kind of person who can turn your hand to almost anything, from fixing a leak to refreshing a room, this is a role where your versatility truly shines. You’ll be the go‑to expert for day‑to‑day repairs, improvements, and preventative maintenance. Your work helps reduce costs, prevent issues before they escalate, and ensure every site remains functional, safe, and welcoming.
What you’ll do
Carrying out day‑to‑day fixes across our Brasseries, ensuring all facilities remain safe, functional, and presentable
Repairing or replacing damaged doors, hinges, locks, handles, skirting boards, and internal fittings
Installing shelving, brackets, and other small fixtures
Repairing broken items, and ensuring all communal and office spaces remain in good working order
Diagnosing issues on-site and completing repairs efficiently to minimise downtime and disruption
Conducting preventative maintenance checks to identify potential problems early
Completing full-room repaints, touch-ups, and cosmetic improvements to maintain a clean, professional environment
Repairing and patching plaster, filling holes, sanding surfaces, and preparing areas for painting
Refreshing skirting boards, door frames, and internal woodwork
What you’ll bring
Strong all‑round technical skills across multiple trades (plumbing, carpentry, decorating)
A practical, problem‑solving mindset — spotting issues before they become costly
Understanding of Health & Safety standards, risk assessments, and safe tool use
You’ll have
Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance operative, or similar role
Full UK driving licence with your own tools and van/vehicle
Relevant trade certificates are a bonus, but not essential
Clear communication skills and the ability to work flexibly across the week
