Big Rig at Ottawa International Airport is looking for a multi-unit Assistant Restaurant Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys supporting operations across more than one location.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to run shifts, develop teams, and keep service standards high — even when things get busy (which they will).
What You’ll Do
Partner with the Restaurant General Manager to support daily operations across multiple units
Lead by example on the floor, ensuring strong guest service and smooth service flow
Recruit, train, coach, and develop Food Travel Experts
Assign daily goals, tasks, and shift coverage to meet operational needs
Maintain merchandising, inventory levels, and brand standards
Monitor sales performance and support cost control efforts
Ensure compliance with company policies and provincial health & sanitation standards
Support office and admin functions including scheduling, payroll, inventory, and receiving
What We’re Looking For
Minimum 2 years of food & beverage management experience
Experience in casual dining required
Strong shift leadership and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Proven ability to handle conflict, work under pressure, and make sound decisions
Excellent communication skills (English required; French bilingualism an asset)
Organized, reliable, and comfortable supporting more than one location
