Online Senior Analyst
This role is responsible for delivering, and supporting the team to deliver, high‑quality, actionable analytics and reporting that provide clear visibility of Online business performance. The role partners closely with stakeholders to translate data into meaningful insight that supports understanding, drives informed decision‑making, and shapes both Online strategy and day‑to‑day tactical activity. Through a strong focus on collaboration, prioritisation and impact, the role helps ensure insight is timely, relevant and clearly connected to business outcomes.
You will be responsible for:
Working within an agile framework to build strong relationships with cross‑functional teams, manage priorities, and provide clear insight and analytics, including partnering with teams to improve product availability for online customer orders.
Gathering and shaping data briefs and analytical projects, defining appropriate analytical approaches, and delivering accurate, timely insight. You will liaise closely with stakeholders to ensure the best, most actionable recommendations are identified and delivered.
Supporting the implementation and tracking of trials, applying statistical techniques for trial/control selection, and measuring and interpreting the statistical significance of results.
Supporting the Analytics Manager with prioritisation and providing guidance to other analysts on their data briefs and projects.
Promoting a data‑driven, self‑serve culture by ensuring dashboards, tools, resources and insights produced by the team are shared widely, well understood, acted upon, and continuously evolved to meet departmental needs.
Supporting the team’s technical development and contributing to the induction and onboarding of new starters.
Managing the agenda and delivery of 1‑2‑1 meetings and personal development sessions.
Taking a leading role in the Online Analytics Community and embedding best‑practice ways of working, including clear documentation of analytical approaches, code and outputs, sense‑checking, peer review, and effective sharing of work.
You will need:
Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
Strong ability to simplify complex problems, manipulate data accurately, and interpret insight within a business context.
Proven capability to engage stakeholders effectively and build trust and confidence in analysis and recommendations.
Highly organised and able to work independently, while recognising when to seek support or input from others.
Capability to coach, support and develop others within the team.
A degree (or equivalent), ideally with strong numerical or analytical content.
Experience using Excel and PowerPoint, alongside BI tools (preferably Tableau and/or Adobe Analytics), to manipulate data and present insight in a clear, visually compelling way that supports decision‑making.
Experience using a query language (preferably SQL) to access and manipulate data from databases.
A broad understanding of the business and wider industry, with an appreciation of how analytics supports commercial outcomes.
