Where You’ll Be Working
Shepherd Neame, Britain’s oldest brewer and a proudly independent family business, is looking for an inspiring and commercially sharp Operations Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of pubs.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the performance, culture, and guest experience of our Managed Houses across a dynamic and competitive hospitality market.
You will:
• Inspire and coach General Managers, setting clear expectations, offering regular feedback, and developing future leaders.
• Drive commercial performance, lifting sales, strengthening margins, and turning insight into meaningful action.
• Champion outstanding guest experiences, ensuring every pub delivers quality, consistency, and memorable hospitality.
• Lead a purposeful operating rhythm, with structured site visits, smart KPIs, and strong follow-through.
• Recruit, onboard, and retain great people, creating inclusive, engaging, and supportive workplaces.
• Embed robust compliance and safety standards, ensuring every site is audit-ready every day.
• Activate local marketing and community partnerships, bringing each pub’s personality and trade drivers to life.
• Support seamless operational change, ensuring new systems, menus, and initiatives land effectively.
• Guide investment projects, from routine maintenance to transformational refurbishments.
• Use data intelligently, translating dashboards into clear priorities and measurable progress.
• Represent Shepherd Neame with pride, building strong relationships with teams, stakeholders, and communities.
