PR Manager - Maternity Leave Cover
This is a wide-reaching role providing advice on Consumer PR and external communications.
Working within the Public Relations team, alongside the PR Manager with responsibility for corporate campaigns, you will execute the planned execution of the proactive PR and communications strategy and activity to support Tesco Ireland’s business and reputational objectives.
This includes but is not limited to Tesco (main brand – products and services), and where relevant, support our consumer brands F&F and Tesco Mobile Ireland (TMI). This role will report to the Head of PR and sits within the Corporate Affairs team.
You will be responsible for:
Develop, implement, and measure multi-layered strategic PR plans to enhance the commercial and reputational objectives of the business.
Manage the consumer PR agency end to end – ensuring clear briefings, prompt response to briefs, planning, execution, and reporting. Close management of agency retainer fee required.
Create innovative and engaging content that showcases products and brand values, while aiming to create talkability.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with journalists and influencers to secure media coverage and endorsements.
Co-manage the corporate social media channels and website including content planning, posting, community management and analytics.
Manage the consumer PR budget and all related financial processes.
Provide leadership team support by drafting key messages, Q&A documents, and materials for key activity, speaking engagements, presentations etc.
Horizon scanning, acting as the “eyes and ears” of the company to proactively track issues that might impact Tesco Ireland’s reputation.
Working alongside the PR Team members:
You will work closely throughout, including:
Co-manage of the press office function, including ad hoc media queries, requests, crisis communications and issues management.
Co-manage daily business updates.
Internal relationships
Collaborate with teams across the business, including Community, Internal Communications, Customer Marketing, Commercial, Technical and Retail.
You will need:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in PR.
Strong knowledge of Ireland’s media landscape, including traditional and digital channels.
Demonstrated success in managing high-profile PR campaigns and sustained media coverage.
