Our Head Office Store Construction Department is strengthening their Commercial Team to meet our ambitious expansion plans. You'll be an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Commercial and Tendering Manager and you will be responsible for supporting the nationwide delivery of new bottle deposit recycling areas within our existing store portfolio. This will involve extensive work to our existing stores and bolster the reputation of a business that already prides itself on our sustainability credentials. You will lead on pre-construction tender and design co-ordination, commercial negotiations, contract management and nationwide strategy.

What you'll do
Tendering, appointing and managing DRS (Deposit Return Scheme) construction projects at a national level.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with external contractors, consultants and key contacts.
Supporting regional teams in the execution of projects through regular meetings, reports and guidance to colleagues.
Liaising with the design teams to promote collaborative development and ensure compliance with Lidl specifications
Monitoring quality of appointed national projects through commercial/cost management reporting, KPI reporting and site visits
Identify and deliver opportunities for cost savings and additional cost mitigation
Co-ordinate all internal and external stakeholders and conduct regular reviews of operating procedures making recommendations for improvement.
Delivering effective business communications through review, reporting, briefings, presenting in team meetings and creating executive summaries as and when appropriate
Updating national procedures, polices and processes and ensure that these are effectively communicated and implemented correctly.
Presenting projects and plans in front of large audiences
Ensure that all matters that may impact the smooth running of the building are reported to senior management and fixed immediately
Demonstrate a willingness to travel for site visits on a weekly basis, development days and training
Regular reporting to Senior Management
What you'll need
A graduate in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction Management is desirable but not essential
Experienced in contracts/project management of small to medium construction projects including an oversight of the planning process (desirable but not essential).
Sound commercial knowledge with an excellent eye for detail
Proven negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and organisational skills
The ability to project manage multiple projects concurrently and handle conflicting deadlines
Strong Google Suit and Project skills
A full driving licence and the flexibility and willingness to travel throughout the UK
