Senior Finance Manager
What is the role?
The Senior Finance manager reports to the Financial Controller and leads the production of Selfridges’ annual financial statements. The Senior Finance Manager has a team of two and is also responsible for fixed asset and occupancy accounting, controlling a number of key balance sheet accounts, and acting as a key point of contact with the Group’s tax advisors.
As a Senior Finance Manager you will:
Lead the timely and accurate production of Selfridges’ annual financial statements, including liaising closely with KPMG to coordinate the year-end external audit process.
Liaise with colleagues in the Group Tax team & Deloitte to support the calculation of Selfridges’ Corporation Tax return.
Ensure that Selfridges’ capital expenditure, depreciation, rent, rates and service charge costs are accurately recorded, reported and forecast.
Work with colleagues across Finance, IT, Loss Prevention, Internal Audit and other functions to ensure that the Company has a robust financial control framework, and act as a Subject Matter Expert on financial control and financial reporting.
Manage a Finance Manager and Finance Analyst.
Review and control a number of key balance sheet accounts, including intercompany, direct and indirect tax, fixed assets, occupancy, and reserves.
Be an active member of the finance team in the Leicester office; working on ad-hoc projects and pitching in, and helping out across the team as required.
How you’ll do it…you will:
Be an ACA qualified accountant with a background in external audit and experience of leading the financial accounting function of a sizeable business, with a strong control mindset and in-depth knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 15 & 16.
Have strong analytical and Excel skills.
Experienced in working at a senior level in a large and complex business, skilled in relationship building and influencing at all levels.
Able to work under pressure and manage a diverse and competing workload ensuring deadlines are met.
Able to drive own initiatives through to completion.
Highly organised and efficient.
Flexible, positive, open to change and proactive.
