CASE STUDY: American Eagle Outfitters
American Eagle Outfitters were opening three new stores in London and needed to recruit 600 sales associates within a window of six weeks. They didn't have an HR presence in the UK at that time and needed to outsource the entire process to RHR. The challenge was the volume of applications they would receive and how to screen the necessary talent to take forward to a final stage interview.

What we did:

  • RHR advertised the roles on, and other selected job boards.
  • A dedicated phone line was set up and answered as American Eagle.
  • RHR received over 7,000 applications. They were each reviewed. Those suitable for interview were selected for telephone screening with RHR.
  • RHR carried out over 3,500 telephone screenings and just over 2,100 candidates were booked onto group interview days with AEO. Those not successful were professionally declined by RHR.
  • All administration and paperwork required on the interview day was organised and managed by RHR to ensure candidates arrived on the day ready to be assessed.
  • RHR called and confirmed attendance with all candidates two days before the interviews.
  • Those candidates unsuccessful on the interview days were professionally declined by RHR. Those who were successful were taken forward and managed by AEO.
  • 630 staff were recruited over a six week period, from the date of advertising to the date of offer.

Interesting Stats:

  • Incoming: 2,400 enquiries relating to the role and the company.
  • Outgoing: 7,400 calls made by RHR to candidates who were being taken through the process.
