Coca Cola has confirmed interest in using a cannabis compound in some of its drinks.

Kent Landers, who is a company spokesman for Coca Cola, has said that no decision had been made to move in to the cannabis market, but admitted that it was keeping a close eye on how the market grows.

"Along with many others in the beverage industry, we are closely watching the growth of non-psychoactive CBD as an ingredient in functional wellness beverages around the world. The space is evolving quickly," he said.

Coca Colas statement comes after a discussion with a Canadian marijuana company, Aurora Cannabis, to produce a health drink.
