Aldi is pushing its new £2.5 million TV campaign ‘Favourite Things’ in the run-up to Easter, which features a cover version of ‘My Favourite Things’ from the movie The Sound of Music, recorded by Jade Williams, an up-and-coming British artist.

The supermarket giant has seen a 63.8% year-on-year rise in sales from its range – Specially Selected. Products from the Specially Selected range that appear in the TV campaign include items such as Pate Jars, Spanish Meat Platters and Applewood and Oak Smoked Salmon.

Managing director of corporate buying at Aldi, Tony Baines commented “Customers often talk enthusiastically about their favourite purchases from Aldi, so we wanted this advert to reflect that our stores are the home of everyone’s favourite things.

“The range at Aldi means you can do your full weekly shop with us and our new advert showcases the quality of the products we offer at everyday low prices.”

It has also been reported from Kantar Worldpanel that market share for Aldi has risen to 5%, which is record high for the company.
