BHS is assessing the future of their Oxford Street flagship store which could result in the department store chain moving out of the West End site.

The struggling business has hired estate agents Harper Dennis Hobbs and Jackson Criss to factor options for the site which BHS has occupied for approximagtely 40 years. It is understood that potential options are being measured, include partitioning the space with other retailers.

BHS chief executive Darren Topp said that he wouldn’t rule out selling the store’s lease contingent on any offer and confirmed that retailers have already expressed their interest in taking part of the space.

BHS was sold to Retail Acquisitions for £1 three months ago by Sir Philip Green and now the company insists that they have a three year turnaround plan in place  to recover the fortunes of the British retailer. Mr Topp has promised to boost performance and cited that after three weeks of trialling Claire’s Accessories in six stores, the results have been positive.
