Bluewater shopping centre in Kent was the first shopping centre to have Thomson open the first of its new next generation stores.
The travel agent’s store is being marketed to customers as a Holiday Design Store which will feature an immersive video wall to attract potential holidaymakers.
The store has an interactive map and table where customers can research their holidays. The shop also has screens and projections showing information such as top ten lists and live weather information to give customers a feel of what to expect from their holiday before they book.
Thompson has also added social media feeds which are streamed onto the screens and also have also added a series of zoned areas including an "advice" bar, "pool" area with free Wi-Fi, as well as individual desk booths.
Kathryn Ward, director of retail for TUI UK & Ireland said: “We’re combining the knowledge and expertise of our people with a range of technology that will really bring choosing and booking a holiday to life and we’re looking forward to welcoming our first customers to the store.”
