John Lyttle will join Boohoo as their new chief executive in March next year.  He is currently the chief operating officer at Primark.

During Lyttle’s tenure, the online fashion retailer’s turnover increased by 158% to over £7 billion. Before Primark, Lyttle held senior positions at Matalan and Arcadia.

Joint chief executive Mahmud Kamani will become group executive chairman.  This means he will focus on strategic direction for the group going forward.  Carol Kane, the other joint chief executive, will keep her place on the board, and take up the title of co-founder and executive director.

Kamani and Kane said: "We are thrilled to have secured a candidate of John's calibre as our CEO. We have got to know John over a number of years and are convinced he has the necessary skills to complement what we already have and take the group on to its next stage of growth. Both of us remain totally committed to the business and will ensure a measured and careful handover.”
